Since 1998, the NFL and LISC have been funding the refurbishment of community football fields across the country to promote positive youth development.

So far, the NFL/LISC Grassroots fund has contributed $35 million and leveraged another $155 million to refurbish 273 community football fields and facilities in underserved neighborhoods nationwide. That includes eight Twin Cities projects--North Commons Park, Parade Stadium, Edison High School, South High School, and Washburn High School in Minneapolis, and Jimmy Lee Recreation Center, Como Park High School, and Griffin Stadium in St. Paul.
